Hard to believe August is nearly with us, what happened to the hot weather? Fear not those days inside Arrow has your back covered with a line up that’s ‘Brutal’ and ‘Unhinged’. A mix of black comedy brilliance in 4K, extreme horror, kung fu action, Grady Hendrix Selects.

Exclusive for the channel, Offspring, director Andrew van den Houten’s brutal adaptation of cult horror novelist Jack Ketchum’s book, about a deadly clan of feral cannibals on the prowl. Showing in 4K via ARROW, it features Pollyanna McIntosh, who would reprise her role in Lucky McKee’s The Woman. “It’s been fun producing and directing horror films all these years,” says van den Houten, “and I cannot wait for people to see my latest version of Offspring in 4K HDR.”

In August, you can experience the unique, pitch-black comedy Heathers in a new 4K restoration. This acerbic satire of the sugar coated high school movies of the 1980s, directed by Michael Lehmann, pushed the teen comedy into dark and nightmarish territory. Widely acknowledged as a true cult classic of modern American cinema, it is distinguished by the career defining central performances of its stars Winona Ryder (Stranger Things) and Christian Slater (True Romance).

In August,  there is a selection of outstanding, eclectic short films, including Flamingo, where an alienated dancer descends into the world of self-amputation; Eject, about a woman discovering a USB port in her wrist, that uncovers a world where she has the ability to change herself for the better; Red Gloves, set in 1980s NYC, where a young dancer at the top of her class is stalked by a shadowy figure wearing red gloves; and Fck’n Nuts, with a melancholy teenager meeting the boy of her dreams, but desperately attempting to prevent him meeting her parents, who have scared all of her previous boyfriends away.

Lastly next month  on ARROW, Vital, an award-winning, mesmerising and nerve-wracking medical thriller from Shinya Tsukamoto, the iconic Japanese auteur, director of the cult classic Tetsuo films, Tokyo Fist and Bullet Ballet, and actor in Ichi the Killer and Marebito, among many others. Vital, which won the New Visions Award at the Sitges festival and was nominated for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival…

Snatched, a collection of films featuring protagonists that have been kidnapped and kept against their will, including The Offspring 4K, The Woman, and Stray Cat Rock: Wild Jumbo.

Hangover From Hell, a selection of tipsy cult films that will go down easy and ensure a heck of a night, including This Stuff’ll Kill Ya!, Hotel Poseidon, and A Taste of Blood.
