New Ballerina Trailer Arrives As Tickets Go On Sale For John Wick Spin-Off

Lionsgate has released a new trailer for their big summer action-thriller Ballerina, which you can watch in the player below!

Based on and set in the world of John Wick, Ballerina takes place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and follows Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas, Knives Out, No Time To Die), who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma.

Anjelica Huston, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Norman Reedus, Ian McShane, and Keanu Reeves also star in the film, which is directed by Len Wiseman (Total Recall). Shay Hatten and Derek Kolstad are on writing duties.

We love John Wick and love the idea of the franchise expanding with spin-offs. With the uncertainty if they’ll ever be a fifth film (despite rumblings it’s in development) Ballerina does fill the gaps. We may have to accept Keanu Reeves turning up in these spin-offs  meaning the only time we’ll see Baba Yaga. de Armas is no stranger to action films with Ghosted, The Gray Man and No Time To Die.  Will this tick all the boxes? Can it stand up to the Wick-glory?

The John Wick franchise has been a huge success in the last decade or so, with the films’ combined box office takings exceeding $1 billion, with the last entry, John Wick 4, the highest grosser so far with $440 million back in 2023. The first film was released in 2014 with sequels in 2017 and 2019, and talk has already stirred of the character returning for a fifth film in the near future, as well as director Chad Stahelski, as well as a few other spin-offs in the works.
