Benoît Magimel / Mélanie Laurent To Lead French Thriller A l’ombre des forêts Apple Announce

Today, Apple TV+ have announced they are set to release the new six-part French thriller A l’ombre des forêts.
The chilling drama stars Cannes Best Actor and three-time César Award winner Benoît Magimel ( Pacifiction, De Son Vivant) and two-time César Award winner Mélanie Laurent (Inglorious Basterds, Wing women) in leading roles.
This series from César Award nominated creator and director Cédric Anger (Next Time I’ll Aim for the Heart) and executive producers Isabelle Degeorges and Christophe Riandee for Gaumont (Lupin, Becoming Karl Lagerfeld, Totem).

In A l’ombre des forêts,Franck and his long-time friends enjoy spending their weekends hunting together, but one Sunday, they come across another group of hunters who start targeting them without explanation. When one of their party is shot, Franck’s friends strike back, sending an attacker to the ground. Barely managing to escape, the four friends decide to keep the event a secret. Franck tries to go back to his life as usual alongside his wife Krystel, but in the next few days he starts to feel like him and his friends are being watched, or worse, tracked, by hunters who are now hell-bent on revenge.
The past couple of years, the streaming service have been upping their French language films and series. Liaison with Vincent Cassel and Eve Green, Drops Of God based on a Manga will return for a second season. Also to come is Carême based on the first celebrity chef during Napoleon’s time in power and La Maison starring Lambert Wilson.
Apple have yet to mention when production will start and when they hope to launch A l’ombre des forêts.
