Bumblebee Clips Show that It’s Not Transformers Meets Herbie!

Left to right: Hailee Steinfeld as Charlie and Bumblebee in BUMBLEBEE, from Paramount Pictures.
From the buzz from Bumblebee so far, this Transformers spin-off film will be totally different from the Michael Bay films. We’ve seen the film and YES it’s redundant of most of those Bay trademark tropes (that’s with Bay producing!).
If you’re a stickler for nostalgia, not just for old-school Transformers but for the music (The Smiths, Duran Duran to name a few), you’ll love this. This film made me feel like I was 12 year old again, with the tone similar to BMX Bandits! If you dig 1980’s Spielberg style family adventure films check this one out.
Paramount Pictures are determined to convince cinephiles this is more than just another Transformers film. Today they have released three new clips which tease us of this. We have two clips we see our friendly yellow Autobot doing his best to be Herbie, when Charlie finds that her mum has taken her car. Next clip we see Charlie and friend Memo (Jorge Lendeborg Jr.) attempt to escape the police, Memo can’t drive1 First up is a more old school clip as Humanity makes first with the Decepticons…

On the run in the year 1987, Bumblebee finds refuge in a junkyard in a small Californian beach town. Charlie (Hailee Steinfeld), on the cusp of turning 18 and trying to find her place in the world, discovers Bumblebee, battle-scarred and broken. When Charlie revives him, she quickly learns this is no ordinary, yellow VW bug.
Bumblebee has got a confirmed release date for the UK and Ireland of 24th December. In the USA it’s 21st December.
The film also stars John Cena, Pamela Adlon, Kenneth Choi, Megan Pryce Jorge Lendeborg Jr., John Ortiz, Jason Drucker, Stephen Schneider, and Martin Short. Angela Bassett and Justin Theroux are also onboard as the voices of the Decepticons chasing our titular Autobot.
