‘Dangerous Romance’ For Ruth Wilson In True Things UK Trailer

Some relationships are picture perfect, In Harry Wootliff‘s True Things the romance might be on the dangerous side. Picturehouse Entertainment have released the film’s UK Trailer, Ruth Wilson’s ion is strong but the circumstances questionable
The film premieres at Toronto Film Festival, then headed to BFI London Film Festival where our writer Freda Cooper watched the film. In her 4 star review, Freda calling “this isn’t a neat story and, while we might feel we deserve a tidy conclusion, this is not a film that needs – or, indeed, wants – one“.
In this film, Wilson plays Kate a woman who finds her life underwhelming, intoxicating. Life throws her a an encounter with a charismatic stranger (Burke), she hopes he will give her the escapism she desires. However things get desperate when the relationship goes to dark places.
The trailer certainly teases the dangers that lurk in the shadows of Kate’s now romance. It also shows she’s in a vulnerable state, opened up to abuse.

Bored by the daily tedium of her office job, Kate (Ruth Wilson) is sleepwalking through life when a chance sexual encounter with a charismatic stranger (Tom Burke) awakens her. High on infatuation and the exhilaration of this new relationship, she finds herself inexplicably drawn to this mysterious new man. Hoping he will provide the escape she so desperately desires, she embarks on an emotionally dangerous journey that slowly begins to consume her.
The film also stars Tom Burke, Hayley Squires, Elizabeth Rider, Frank McCusker, and Ann Firbank. True Things will be released in the UK and Ireland from 1st April.
