Based on the acclaimed Gillian Flynn novel of the same name Gone Girl tells the story of Nick Dunne (Affleck) whose wife Amy (Rosamund Pike) suddenly disappears on their 5th Anniversary. To everyone it was a perfect marriage and Nick leads the search the search for his wife he attempts to rally the locals of his hometown however the fingers start to point at him as the prime suspect.
We just love David Fincher‘s work, including his last effort the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo remake and we’re stoked the trailer for his next project is here. This sets the tone for the film dark, dramatic most of all unconventional suggesting that Nick is a man with two faces, one a nice public face guy the other one with a temper. It looks a film that looks moody and more twist and turns than the Almafi Drive in Italy. The feel of the film is also helped thanks to the unnerving ambient rendition of Elvis Costello’s ‘She’ from Fincher’s regular music partners Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross.
It’s not the perfect trailer but does enough to tease you to want more we just love the unexpected dark undertones Fincher always brings into his films. Gone Girl is set for a UK, Irish and U.S release of 3rd October with Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, Scoot McNairy, Missi Pyle, Casey Wilson, Emily Ratajkowski, and Neil Patrick Harris making up the rest of the cast.
