Death Stalks Blake Lively In The Shallow New Trailer

40 years ago we where told be afraid of the water when you watched Jaws, promising you wouldnt go in the water again. This summer Blake Lively will face that terror in a new form in The Shallows, as our playground becomes their feeding ground as death stalks her in the film’s latest UK Trailer…
Only a rock prevents our film’s heroine from been on the menu for a hungry shark which looks like that has 24 inch plus pythons that would make Hulk Hogan proud. Only mania running wild in this promo is Hungrymania aka Sharkmania, so what you gonna do!
In the taut thriller The Shallows, when Nancy (Blake Lively) is surfing on a secluded beach, she finds herself on the feeding ground of a great white shark. Though she is stranded only 200 yards from shore, survival proves to be the ultimate test of wills, requiring all of Nancy’s ingenuity, resourcefulness, and fortitude.
The Deep becomes their shallows remind us when when enjoy our planet’s greatest source Water that those great seas the creatures that swim in them rule them too. That ‘paradise’ Nancy thrives might be secluded but great white sharks swim those waters and you don’t need classic films to remind you us mortal humans are food to these majestic predators.
On paper this looks like it should be in line with the likes of Open Water and you wouldn’t be far from the truth, however this is far from it.The plot maybe minimal but this film’s plot shouldn’t complicated, what we do get is extra tid bits of info on Nancy. She has been bitten by the shark with time against her as the clock ticks away as the tide comes in. Despite seeing her fellow surfers suffer the fate of the shark, she’s a fighter a determined to make it and outwit the giant of the sea. Recently her mother died and this holiday is to help her get over the grief, plus she has a younger sister at home giving her plenty of reasons to succeed.
Jaume Collet-Serra is the director whose films mould into a unique niche themselves (Unknown, Non-Stop, Run All Night). His film might not be Oscar level but he has proven to deliver a level of intensity and suspnse to make this film work. Question you might ask is, “does it star Liam Neeson?” He might be the voice of the shark? You never know he does posses a certain set of particular skills!
To find out if I’m joking, The Shallow arrives in UK on 12th August, starring Oscar Jaenada and Sedona Legge.
