Orphan, Outsider, King, destiny awaits as Disney release the Teaser Trailer for Mufasa: The Lion King.

The circle of life is set to return to our cinemas this Christmas. Yes it’s that ‘dreaded’ word Prequel, and that lion that would change our lives forever. The follow up film toMoonlight) now directing.

Mufasa: The Lion King promises to tell the story of one of the greatest lions in the pride. The story of Simba’s father Mufasa origins and how Taka would embrace the orphaned cub. They would embark on a journey that would test their bond as they search for their destiny.

The main voice cast includes Aaron Pierre as Mufasa, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, John Kani as Rafiki.

Mufasa: The Lion King enlists Rafiki to relay the legend of Mufasa to young lion cub Kiara, daughter of Simba and Nala, with Timon and Pumbaa lending their signature schtick. Told in flashbacks, the story introduces Mufasa as an orphaned cub, lost and alone until he meets a sympathetic lion named Taka—the heir to a royal bloodline. The chance meeting sets in motion an expansive journey of an extraordinary group of misfits searching for their destiny—their bonds will be tested as they work together to evade a threatening and deadly foe.

The rest of the voice cast includes Tiffany Boone, Kagiso Lediga, Preston Nyman, Thandiwe Newton, Mads Mikkelsen, Anika Noni Rose, Keith David, John Kani, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter. Other casting includes Braelyn Rankins, Theo Somolu, Folake Olowofoyeku, Joanna Jones, Thuso Mbedu, Sheila Atim, Abdul Salis and Dominique Jennings.

Mufasa: The Lion King will arrive in UK and Irish cinemas from 20th December.
