DVD Review – What If (2014)

what-if-DVDWhat If, is the new film that examines the potential of being in love with your best friend. Tipped as the next 500 Days of Summer, the film follows Wallace, a medical school dropout, sick of his amount of failed relationships. At a party, he meets Chantry, an animator who has been in a happy relationship with boyfriend, Ben.

Despite the obvious connection, they remain friends, hang out a lot, and then before long comes the matter of realizing your in love with your best friend, despite them being in a relationship.

Although what follows is the typical rom com of boy trying to hide feelings for girl, girl not knowing if she’s in love with boy, boy travelling to Dublin to tell her how he feels etc, What If is still a sweet film to watch with your significant other this valentines day.

With a great casting of Zoe Kazan and Daniel Radcliffe, the only problem is not being able to see Daniel in any other role aside from Harry Potter. Wallace pretty much wears the same outfit Harry does in the last five minute of Part 2 of the Deathly Hallows. If you can ignore that and are a sucker for a romance this is likely for you.
