Emma Mackey Is Emily Watch First Trailer The Genius Brontë Sister

Rebel. Misfit. Genius, Emma Mackey is the Brontë Sisters ‘genius’ in Emily. Warner Bros have released the first UK Trailer that delves into the mind behind Wuthering Heights.
Back in June we learned when s O’Connor (A.I Artificial Intelligence, The Conjuring 2), directorial debut will arrive. That release date is soon (October), hence we now have this first trailer.
When it comes to ‘rebels’ 1800’s isn’t always the time we think off, especially a young woman. One of great talent, one whose writings were ahead of there time . You could call this an coming of age story about Emily Brontë as well as her sisters. Her journey into womanhood, relationship with her sisters, and the things that inspired her.

“EMILY” tells the imagined life of one of the world’s most famous authors, Emily Brontë. The film stars Emma Mackey (“Sex Education”, “Death on the Nile”) as Emily, a rebel and misfit, as she finds her voice and writes the literary classic Wuthering Heights. “EMILY” explores the relationships that inspired her – her raw, ionate sisterhood with Charlotte (Alexandra Dowling – “The Musketeers”) and Anne (Amelia Gething – “The Spanish Princess”); her first aching, forbidden love for Weightman (Oliver Jackson-Cohen – “The Lost Daughter”, “The Haunting of Bly Manor”) and her care for her maverick brother (Fionn Whitehead – “The Duke”, “Dunkirk”) whom she idolises.
s O’Connor makes her directorial debut with “EMILY,” from her own original screenplay. The film also stars Adrian Dunbar (“Line of Duty”) and Gemma Jones (“Bridget Jones’s Baby”, “Gentleman Jack”).
The film will also stars Alexandra Dowling, Amelia Gething, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Fionn Whitehead, Adrian Dunbar and Gemma Jones.
Emily will arrive in UK and Irish Cinemas from 14th October. No U.S.A release date just yet, however the film is set to make it’s world premiere at Toronto Film Festival.
