Film Review - Beauty And The Beast (2017)

It is without a doubt the tale as old as time indeed. Disney’s long-awaited live action remake of the live original 1991 best picture nominated film Beauty and the Beast has finally enchanted audiences worldwide today.

I am one of the biggest fans of not only the original Beauty and the beast film but of most of the cast of the film.

This adaption follows pretty much the same story as the 1991 classic. However, there are a few minor changes. Enough to class the film as PG rather than a U which the original was.It’s live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs.

Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realise the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.

Going onto the film. I can safely and honestly say it has to be one of the best films I have seen and I honestly see this film getting nominated for awards come that season. I loved everything about this film.

The acting was on point as well from pretty much everyone. I know there has been some criticism of the singing but I can honestly tell you now that the singing is on point. I loved seeing the classic songs com to life in front of my eyes. And also loved how they managed to blend in some new songs that really enhanced the film a lot.

As someone who is visually impaired Even, I could see the wonderful and magical way the colours just burst off the screen especially in the stunningly filmed ballroom scene.

Many amazing films come and go, but much like the film’s original I think Disney are on to a winner and I am both nervous and excited about what the studio will do next, I just don’t know ho they will ever match this masterpiece.

This film is just stunning, beautiful, magical and enchanting. I would love to hear the thoughts of someone who hadn’t seen the 1991 film as I think it would just be magical.

Beauty and the Beast I know I will see it again at least about ten maybe twenty times more.
