Review
The film starts with the family dog, Henry, introducing us to the family. It did come across similar to Garfield at this point, and I wasn’t sure this was going to be a film for me. That being said, it became apparent very early on that my 8-year-old was thoroughly enjoying it.
And what child wouldn’t. This film has a family, a pet, a science project complete with a school bully, a young love interest and a villain. So a lot is jammed into this 90-minute film.
With a feel of “Ready Player One” to it, Oliver is good friends with Xiao who lives in China, he befriended him through their virtual reality gaming and it’s through this friendship that they can produce enough energy to create the telepath bond between Oliver and his dog Henry.
Kunal Nayyar, plays the part of a genius but, unlike the lovely sweet Raj we all know and love in Big Bang Theory, Kunal plays an evil cyber-businessman who has one real mean stare!
It’s a feel-good film, will light suspense and a happy ending. If you aren’t watching this film with a young family, I’m not sure you’ll enjoy it so much, it is very much aimed at the younger family audience.
