Eli Roth‘s Borderlands is only a few weeks away from release, tonight Lionsgate Release one final UK Trailer. Sadly that trailer looks even more like a poor Guardians of The Galaxy rip-off, oooft.

Yes folks, this is another attempt to bring one of the most popular games into the cinematic universe. Garnering over $1 billion dollars in revenue, it’s no surprise we now have a film. I am no gaming expert, this is a game with dark humour plays like a graphic novel.

The misfits we’ll follow in Borderlands are played by Cate Blanchett (Lilith), Kevin Hart (Roland), Jamie Lee Curtis (Dr. Patricia Tannis), Jack Black (Claptrap), Ariana Greenblatt (Tiny Tina), plus Florian Munteanu (Krieg).  All set on the  fictional planet of Pandora, Lilith and her team of misfits search for the missing daughter of Atlas. They end up public enemy number one with the fate of the world in  their hands.

Lilith (Blanchett), an infamous bounty hunter with a mysterious past, reluctantly returns to her home, Pandora, the most chaotic planet in the galaxy. Her mission is to find the missing daughter of Atlas (Ramírez), the universe’s most powerful S.O.B. Lilith forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits – Roland (Hart), a seasoned mercenary on a mission; Tiny Tina (Greenblatt), a feral pre-teen demolitionist; Krieg(Munteanu), Tina’s musclebound protector; Tannis (Curtis), the oddball scientist who’s seen it all; and Claptrap (Black), a wiseass robot. Together, these unlikely heroes must battle an alien species and dangerous bandits to uncover one of Pandora’s most explosive secrets. The fate of the universe could be in their hands – but they’ll be fighting for something more: each other. Based on one of the best-selling videogame franchises of all time, welcome to BORDERLANDS.

Borderlands will arrive in UK, Ireland  on 8th August and U.S cinemas from 9th August. The film also co-stars  Haley Bennett, Edgar Ramírez, Bobby Lee, Olivier Richters, Janina Gavankar, Cheyenne Jackson, and Gina Gershon.
