First Image For The Banshees of Inisherin

This September Martin McDonagh‘s The Banshees Of Inisherin will make it’s World Premiere at the Venice International Film Festival. Searchlight Pictures will be releasing the film in the UK and Ireland, the studio has sent us a first look image for the film.
McDonagh‘s last film Seven Psychopaths both considered cult films.
His latest creation stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson who are in the image. The pair are lifelong friends whose families are torn apart thanks to the Irish Civil War of 1923.
Set on an island off the west coast of Ireland, THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN follows two lifelong friends, Padraic (Colin Farrell) and Colm (Brendan Gleeson), who find themselves at an ime when Colm abruptly decides to end their friendship. With the of his sister Siobhan (Kerry Condon), who along with the local policeman’s son Dominic (Barry Keoghan) has her own qualms within the small island community, a confused and devastated Padraic attempts to reignite their relationship. But when Colm delivers a shocking ultimatum in order to crystalize his intention, events start to escalate to fractious heights.
The film stars Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, who reunite with McDonagh from IN BRUGES, as well as Kerry Condon, and Barry Keoghan. The key crew include cinematographer and regular McDonagh collaborator Ben Davis, costume designer Eimer Ni Mhaoldomhnaigh, production designer Mark Tildesley, and editor Mikkel E.G. Nielsen. Carter Burwell is composing the score. McDonagh and his frequent collaborators Graham Broadbent and Peter Czernin of Blueprint Pictures are producing for Searchlight Pictures and Film4.
The film was shot on location on Inishmore and Achill islands on the west coast of Ireland.
The Banshees Of Inisherin also stars Kerry Condon, Barry Keoghan. Searchlight Pictures haven’t mentioned a UK or Irish release date just yet. The film will premiere at 79th Venice International Film Festival on 5th September.
