After Yang (2021)

Sky today have revealed the UK Trailer for Kogonada‘s After Yang which teases will test your heart strings.

In this one we find ourselves set in the near future, in a world which androids are part of our every day lives. With emotions, feelings even memories and when Jake’s (Colin Farrell) daughter’s companion Yang (Justin H.Min) malfunctions he attempts to fix him. Making him question life and connected with his wife (Jodie Turner-Smith).

The film recently played this year’s Sundance Film Festival and our reviews editor Scott J Davis watched it. He gave it 5 stars describing the film as a  “a celebratory, inspiring, and exhilarating love letter to the power of humanity, technology, and the uneasy relationship in the middle“.

When it comes to sci-fi usually don’t usually push your emotions to the max and that’s what intrigues us about this one. The relationship between humanity and technology is uniquely terrifying that both possess memories. Soulful, delicate, evocative tale that fans of Tarkovsky and Malick will watch with delight.
