In This Corner (And Other Corners) of the World Extended Version Getting Crunchyroll Release
Sunao Katabuchi’s award-winning Anime extended version now available Outside Japan for first time

Crunchyroll are set to give Sunao Katabuchi’s delightful In This Corner (And Other Corners) of the World, the extended version a release internationally.
The anime was originally released in the UK on Blu-Ray by In This Corner Of The World and is is based on Fumiyo Kouno’s manga. Now with the full title, this version has an extra 39 minutes more running time and footage never seen outside of Japan!
The film is set in Japan 1944, the film tells the story of Suzu, a young woman who moves to a small town near Hiroshima to live with her husband’s family.
Critically acclaimed, the original film received more than 60 awards, including the Hiroshima Peace Film Award, Grand Jury Prize for Best Film at 6th Toronto Japanese Film Festival and the Jury Award for Feature Film at 41st Annecy International Film Festival as well as 3 wins at the 40th Japan Academy Prize

The award-winning story of IN THIS CORNER OF THE WORLD follows a young lady named Suzu Urano, who in 1944 moves to the small town of Kure in Hiroshima to live with her husband’s family. Suzu’s life is thrown into chaos when her town is bombed during World War II. Her perseverance and courage underpin this heart-warming and inspirational tale of the everyday challenges faced by the Japanese in the midst of a violent, war-torn country. This beautiful yet poignant tale shows that even in the face of adversity and loss, people can come together and rebuild their lives.
