Indicator November Slate Brings Hammer Classics To Overlooked British Cinema

This November, INDICATOR returns to Hammer’s vaults to compile the much-anticipated fourth volume in its limited edition box set series devoted to the iconic British film production company, and seeks out an often-overlooked entry in late-60s British cinema.

Available on 18 November, HAMMER VOLUME FOUR: FACES OF FEAR collects four films which represent the best of Hammer’s classic horror output: Terence Fisher’s seminal THE REVENGE OF FRANKENSTEIN (1958), presented in a stunning new restoration; Fisher’s controversial THE TWO FACES OF DR. JEKYLL (1960); Seth Holt’s nerve-shredding psycho-thriller TASTE OF FEAR (1961); and Joseph Losey’s unique horror/sci-fi hybrid THE DAMNED (1962). All four films are presented for the first time on Blu-ray in the UK, and are complemented by a wealth of essential extra features.

Also released on 18 November, INDICATOR presents Joseph Losey’s dark melodrama SECRET CEREMONY (1968), starring Hollywood superstars Elizabeth Taylor (Suddenly, Last Summer, Cleopatra), Mia Farrow (Rosemary’s Baby, See No Evil) and Robert Mitchum (The Night of the Hunter, Cape Fear), on Blu-ray for the very first time.

Secret Ceremony  | Thriller | 1968

Joseph Losey’s lurid and often misunderstood drama stars the great Elizabeth Taylor (Suddenly, Last Summer) as an ageing London prostitute who befriends a young woman (Mia Farrow, See No Evil) that reminds her of her long-dead daughter. As the bizarre relationship between the two evolves, the appearance of Robert Mitchum (Cape Fear), as Farrow’s abusive stepfather, ignites deep emotions and dark ions.

With its exquisite production design, stylish cinematography and elegant score, Joseph Losey’s lost masterpiece finally makes its long-overdue premiere on Blu-ray.
