Is This First Pacific Rim Footage?

2012 may not be over yet but Summer 2013 cinematically is already taking shape with many of the big blockbusters already released the first teaser trailer or just on the verge too. One film we’ve not heard much of recently is Guillermo Del Toro‘s Pacific Rim and today a promotional video promoting Del Toro’s production company Mirada has appeared online though you may be wondering why are we interested? Simple as it may include the briefest of footage of Pacific Rim!

The video was created to show off the company’s wealth of talent, showing glimpses of the FX from Hellboy II:The Golden Army, Pan’s Labyrinth even Mickey Mouse but’s 1:15 mark of the video we have the golden nugget.If this is footage from Pacific Rim, it looks like our first glimpse at The Jaeger’s the massive robots created by the human race to help protect against the inter dimensional monsters that are attacking Earth. It is the briefest of glimpses but don’t blink or you’ll miss or just simply check out the image above! As I said we don’t know if this is from the film however we don’t hear about many other giant robot films Del Toro is involved in even if the robot does look a tad like The Iron Giant?

Del Toro mentioned at this years Com con at San Diego no footage will be revealed until at Least Christmas, with only 4 weeks to go (yes start shopping lists!) will a first trailer be on the way? For the meantime enjoy this brief look at possible footage!
