Jon Favreau’s Star Wars TV Show Gets Title…The Mandalorian
Put aside the toxicity that came with The Last Jedi, there’s a whole lot of the Star Wars universe. Television seems to be the great undiscovered country for Disney and one of those projects is Jon Favreau‘s live-action TV Show. The show has now taken some big steps by announcing its title…The Mandalorian.
Late last night via his Instagram Favreau (or Rio Durante to Solo: A Star Wars Story fans) announced the show’s title and the first synopsis of the series…
The new Show expands the idea that Jango and son Boba Fett weren’t the only two bounty hunters who had cool suits. This new may upset some hardcore fans who wanted a standalone Boba Fett film. This series will be set after the Fall of the empire, which means there won’t be any cameos from Boba. He’s in the belly of the Sarlacc Pit, don’t fret the notion of more cool looking bounty hunters is still an exciting prospect.
The group of warriors/hunters had their own culture and could easily match The Jedi Warriors. This show will be set after Return Of The Jedi before The First Order emerged from the ashes of The Empire. When the Prequel Trilogy arrived, most of the warriors had become Pacifists.
The one thing, fans of Star Wars loved about Boba was his suit which was a modified version of his father Jango’s. Jango Fett has a fearsome reputation and a sight of him and the distinctive suit was legendary as well as deadly for his targets. When you look into that Synopsis “lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy“, our lead character may be of similar type to Boba. What it does suggest, the show is going to be a Space Western direction. The one thing that leans towards the vision that George Lucas had when he first created Star Wars.
At this stage, there are no actors been mentioned to star in The Mandalorian. What has been mentioned online is the directors who will direct the episodes. Thor: Ragnarok helmer Taika Waititi, Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard, Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones, Better Call Saul), and Rick Famuyiwa (Dope) also directing.
It’s exciting times ahead in the Star Wars Universe, hopefully, those fans annoyed with the events of The Last Jedi will embrace the new projects. Disney is pumping a lot of money into each episode (reported $10 million per episode) and with the above-mentioned directors, we have a lot to look forward too. Its expected the show will be premiering on the Disney Channel streaming service next to the Marvel future shows. We do expect Disney to sell the show here in the UK as these shows are aimed to challenge the likes of Netflix.
