Love And Injustice, Watch Second Great Freedom UK Trailer

Nowadays when it comes sexuality, it’s richly diverse, what if there was a time you would be jailed or worse for being gay? This March, MUBI will release Austrian’s Powerful Oscar submission LGBTQ drama Great Freedom. Today the streaming channel have released a second UK Trailer.
Love and injustice of a true story that liberation post world war II means freedom for all. Shockingly right up to 1994 it was basically illegal to be a gay man, a law hat was in place since 1871. Sebastien Meise’s Cannes Un Certain Regard Jury Prize winning film stars Franz Rogowski. Following Hans a man imprisoned for being a gay man over and over again. He finally has one steady relationship, his cell mate a convicted murderer Viktor. Over time the friendship blossoms into love.
The Oscar submission as well as the critical praise, is evidence this film is worth your attention.

In post-war , liberation by the Allies does not mean freedom for everyone. Hans has been found guilty for his homosexuality, deemed grounds for imprisonment under Paragraph 175. Over the course of decades, he is spied on and repeatedly jailed as a result.
As Hans returns to prison again and again, he develops an unlikely bond with his cellmate Viktor, a convicted murderer. What begins as revulsion blossoms over time into something far more tender.
Since the first Trailer the UK and Irish release date has changed by 1 week, Great Freedom now in cinemas from 11th March.
