Tyler Perry Goes International in Madea’s Destination Wedding Trailer

Tyler Perry will play Madea once again, as the trailer for the thirteenth entry in the comedy franchise – Madea’s Destination Wedding – is released.
Madea’s Destination Wedding sees Madea’s nephew Brian (also played by Perry) and his ex-wife Debrah (Taja V. Simpson) are shocked to learn their daughter Tiffany (Diamond White) is engaged to a rapper she met on a yacht – and the wedding is in two weeks. Madea and her crew head to the Bahamas, where familial tensions and hijinks ensue.
Perry is the writer and director of the film and will produce alongside Angi Bones and Tony L. Strickland. Alongside Perry and White, the film will also star Cassi Davis, Tamela Mann, David Mann and Taja V. Simpson. Principal photography began in Atlanta in January 2024, with additional filming taking place in the Dominican Republic.
“It’s been 20 years now since Diary of a Mad Black Woman came out,” writer, director, star, and producer Tyler Perry told TUDUM of the milestone anniversary. “To see that this character is still enduring, and people are still watching and enjoying and laughing, it’s really mind-blowing to me.”
“I keep coming back because some of this is just escapism… Just let’s leave the world behind for a moment and come to Madea’s house, and have some good food and laugh, and cry and celebrate and be all of those things.”, Perry added.
