Rotting In The Sun coming to MUBI in September

MUBI have released the Trailer for Sebastián Silva’s darkly funny Meta comedy Rotting In The Sun.

The film skewers the business of filmmaking and our self-obsessed culture. Starring social media figure Jordan Firstman in his first leading role, and a LOT of male dangly bits on show!

Firstman stars alongside Silva himself when the pair meet they agree to work on a project. After leaving the Mexican gay beach town the pair met, Jordan returns with Silva disappeared out of sight. Pushing Jordan to embark on wild unpredictable journey.

Directed by Sebastián Silva (The Maid, Crystal Fairy & the Magical Cactus, Nasty Baby) and produced by Jacob Wasserman (The Eyes of My Mother, Tyrel), Rotting in the Sun stars writer and social media sensation Jordan Firstman in his first leading role, Sebastián Silva and Catalina Saavedra (The Maid).

Rotting in the Sun is a darkly funny and refreshingly audacious meta-comedy that skewers the business of filmmaking and our self-obsessed culture. While unwinding at a Mexican gay beach town, depressed director Sebastián Silva meets gregarious Instagram influencer Jordan Firstman (both playing versions of themselves), and Sebastián reluctantly agrees to collaborate on an project. But when Jordan arrives back in Mexico City, Sebastián is nowhere to be found, and Jordan embarks on a wildly unpredictable, quasi-detective journey.

Rotting In The Sun also stars Robert Keller, Vitter Leija, Catalina Saavedra, and Gerardo Sierra. The film will stream exclusively on MUBI from 15th September.
