New Video and Poster Tease Andor’s Long Awaited Return

Fans of the Star Wars prequel show Andor may not have to wait much longer for its highly anticipated return, as Lucasfilm have shared a new poster and video promoting the long-awaited season 2.
A behind-the-scenes look at the show’s final chapter, the video teases the expanded scope of Cassian Andor’s (Diego Luna) journey to becoming a hero of the Rebel Alliance.
With the stakes higher than ever before, the thrilling second season will comprise 12 episodes, split between four chapters of three episodes each.
Rife with political intrigue, danger, tension, and high stakes, the series is a prequel to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which portrayed a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans to the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction: The Death Star, setting the stage for the events of the original 1977 film. “Andor” sets the clock back five years from the events of “Rogue One” to tell the story of the film’s hero, Cassian Andor, and his transformation from disinterested, cynical nobody into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny.
The first season of Andor was a huge success, so there’s a great deal of pressure on the crew. However, the poster and video release are worthwhile signs that production is moving in the right direction.
Low viewership has been a regular problem for streaming titan Disney+, with other shows like The Acolyte being cancelled in part due to insufficient audience numbers. But Andor is a survivor. An impressive season 2 could renew an interest in Star Wars on the small screen.
The cast for the new season include Stellan Skarsgård, Genevieve O’Reilly, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller, Adria Arjona, Faye Marsay, Varada Sethu, Elizabeth Dulau, Alan Tudyk, with Ben Mendelsohn and Forest Whitaker.
Season 2 of Andor is scheduled for release on Disney+ on 22nd April. Following a three-episode premiere, Disney will release three episodes a week.
