Romulo Garai’s Amulet UK Trailer Will Get Under Your Skin

Evil lives upstairs and in Romola Garai’s directorial debut feature Amulet. Ahead of it’s UK Premier at this weekend’s Arrow Video FrightFest, Republic Films have released the UK Trailer that promises to get under your skin.
No one likes moving and this film will hope to give anyone the fear on top of the stress that comes with it. Nearly 2 years ago the film made it’s world premiere and we were talking about this film last year. Off course Covid-19 cancelled or delayed everything now we’re closer to that debut.
The film stars Alec Secareanu (God’s Own Country) plays Tomaz, homeless ex-soldier looking for a roof over his head in London. He falls in love with a young woman who offers him a place to stay with her elderly mother. The house is old, decaying something sinister seems to be going on.
Unsettling, chilling stuff…

Amulet explores the story of Tomaz (Alec Secareanu: Gods own Country, Cannibal), an ex-soldier from an unnamed foreign conflict, living in strained circumstances in London. Haunted by his past, he is offered a place to stay in a decaying, claustrophobic house, inhabited by an enigmatic young woman (Carla Juri: Blade Runner: 2049, Wetlands) and her dying mother. As he starts to fall for his new companion, Tomaz cannot ignore his suspicion that something insidious might also be living alongside them.
The film also stars Carla Juri, with Angeliki Papoulia and Imelda Staunton.
Amulet will make it’s UK Premiere at Arrow Video FrightFest Halloween on Saturday 30th October [more info]. If you can’t make that screening, Republic Films will release the film in UK and Irish Cinema 28th January 2022.
