Someone must have put something in Steven Spielberg’s water this year as the director seems to have found that old magic from the days that made him who he is today. Already we’ve seen the fantastic Super 8 capturing the magic from The Goonies, Monster Squad, we’re expecting great things from his motion captured Tin Tin end of this month but the stakes are even higher for his next War Horse as we’re talking Oscar nominations here and it’s been a hell of a long time since Spielberg  and Oscars have been in the same sentence. As promised our good friends at Dreamworks have kept to their word and sent us the full theatrical trailer for War Horse which does not disappoin. From this we can see War Horse is   deserving of it’s Oscar’s contention, a  visually stunning which captures the emotional bond, friendship between man and Horse and will get the viewers heart strings going too.

Based on a Michael Mupurgo novel already an successful West End drama, War Horse is an epic tale of friendship and the bond between animal & master: A horse named Joey owned by a young man Albert(Jeremy Irvine). They become separated when the British Army buy the horse, sending it into the trenches. Albert is too young to enlist but somehow finds his way to , to search for Joey.

This reminds me of Saving Private Ryan and if this movie captures that movies essence what a movie we’ll have on our hands here even if it doesn’t War horse deserves to be recognised as a fantastic movie in its own right. War Horse stars Emily Watson, David Thewlis , Peter Mullan, Niels Arestrup, Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irvine, Benedict Cumberbatch, Toby Kebbell arriving in UK& Ireland on January 13th 2012.

From director Steven Spielberg comes “War Horse,” an epic adventure for audiences of all ages. Set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War, “War Horse” begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets—British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter—before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land.

The First World War is experienced through the journey of this horse—an odyssey of joy and sorrow, ionate friendship and high adventure. “War Horse” is one of the great stories of friendship and war— a successful book, it was turned into a hugely successful international theatrical hit that is arriving on Broadway next year. It now comes to screen in an epic adaptation by one of the great directors in film history.

DreamWorks Pictures’ “War Horse,” director Steven Spielberg’s epic adventure for audiences of all ages, is a tale of loyalty, hope and tenacity set against a sweeping canvas of rural England and Europe during the First World War.
