Ocean’s Eleven with magicians? Yes, Fun film? Potentially but is the official first trailer for Now You See Me like the protagonists of the film duping us with a great trailer for a bad film?

Now You See Me a Magicians super group ‘Four Horsemen’ who use their magic skills to rob banks and share the profits with themselves and sometimes with the audience. In one live performance from Las Vegas they seem to perform a robbery of a French bank live on stage finding themselves been trailed by the law.

This post may have not started in a positive manner but when the director’s last film was Clash Of The Titans remake it’s more tread with caution when it comes to a Louis Leterrier film. Like many directors who have created mediocre/poor films to create unexpectedly good film we’ll give Leterrier the benefit of the doubt as this film has a fantastic ensembled cast: Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Caine, Morgan Freeman, Isla Fisher,Elias Kosteas, Dave Franco and Melanie Laurent. We do love Heist films like Ocean’s Eleven at The People’s Movies so using this film as template is not a bad thing with the magic side of things make Now You See Me an intriguing prospect.Despite directing some mediocre films Leterrier does a slick production style but hopefully Now You See Me will have some substance to make this an entertaining film (even with the questionable CGI) which the director needs. Looking at this trailer it does have more a resemblance of Inside Man with a healthy dose of The Prestige which sounds good enough for me!

Now You See Me will magically appear in UK&Ireland on 21st June 2013 (USA 9Th June).

The Four Horsemen, a magic super-group led by the charismatic ATLAS (Jesse Eisenberg), perform a pair of high-tech magic shows, first astonishing audiences by robbing a bank on another continent, and then exposing a white-collar criminal and funneling his millions into the audience ’ bank s.

FBI Special Agent DYLAN (Mark Ruffalo) is determined to make the magicians pay for their crimes—and to stop them before they pull off what promises to be an even more audacious heist. But he’s forced to partner with ALMA (Melanie Laurent), an Interpol detective about whom he is instantly suspicious. Out of desperation he turns to THADDEUS (Morgan Freeman), a famed magic debunker, who claims the bank heist was accomplished using disguises and video trickery. One thing Dylan and Alma agree on is that the Horsemen must have an outside point person, and that finding him (or her) is key to ending the magicians’ crime spree. Could it be Thaddeus? Or Alma? Or could it really be…magic?

As pressure mounts and the world awaits the Horsemen’s spectacular final trick, Dylan and Alma race to find an answer. But it soon becomes painfully clear that staying one step ahead of these masters of illusion is beyond the skills of any one man—or woman.
