Steven Knight’s A Thousand Blows Gets A Disney+ Release Date
As fans of Peaky Blinders await the movie version to arrive, Steven Knight‘s A Thousand Blows will fill that gap. Today Disney+ announce the series will arrive in February, we also have new artwork and a teaser trailer!
The six part series stars Malachi Kirby, Stephen Graham and Erin Doherty. We’ll step into the world of bare-knuckle fighting and the criminal underbelly around London. The show is inspired by historical events and true gangs that existed like the 40 Elephants.

Inspired by the true life stories of a group of characters battling for survival in the brutal East End of London in the 1880s. Hezekiah Moscow and Alec Munroe, best friends from Jamaica, find themselves thrust into the criminal underbelly of London’s thriving bare-knuckle boxing scene. As Hezekiah finds fortune and fame through the art of pugilism, he attracts the attention of the infamous Queen of the Forty Elephants, Mary Carr, who sets about exploiting his talents to further her criminal enterprise. Meanwhile the menacing and self-declared emperor of the East End boxing world, Sugar Goodson, determines to destroy Hezekiah whose ambitions to fight in the West End threaten everything he has built. What ensues is a battle of the old world against the new.
The series also stars Francis Lovehall , Jason Tobin, James Nelson-Joyce , Hannah Walters, Darci Shaw. Along with Nadia Albina, Morgan Hilaire, Jemma Carlton, Caoilfhionn Dunne, Susan Lynch, and Daniel Mays. Adam Nagaitis, Gary Lewis, Tom Davis and Robert Glenister.
The more important news A Thousand Blows will launch on Disney+ from 21st February 2025. If you live in the U.S you can watch the series on Hulu available the same day.
