The Twin (2022)

Shudder have  announced they are set to release the English language debut for Lake Bodom filmmaker Taneli MustonenThe Twin.

The genre streaming channel have also released the film’s first official Trailer. Discovery Of Witches star Teresa Palmer stars as Rachael, a mother who lost one of her twin sons in a tragic accident. Struggling to cope with the loss and now her family have relocated. It’s then  things get a bit strange when her other son (Tristan Ruggeri who plays both twins), starts to act strangely.

Anyone who has coped with grief recently (I have), you are an very vulnerable place and are opened to influence. The trailer does show Rachael unravelling and suggests something ‘spiritual’  or worse might have some nefarious ways.  Some unsettling stuff going on here too…

Following the aftermath of a tragic accident that claimed the life of one of their twins, Rachel (Teresa Palmer) and husband Anthony (Steven Cree) relocate to the other side of the world with their surviving son in the hopes of building a new life. What begins as a time of healing in the quiet Scandinavian countryside soon takes an ominous turn when Rachel begins to unravel the torturous truth about her son and confronts the malicious forces attempting to take a hold of him. The film also stars  Steven Cree and Barbara Marten.

Shudder will be releasing The Twin exclusively on the streaming platform in the UK, Ireland, U.S.A, Canada, Australia and New Zealand from 6th May. The same day RLJE Films will be giving the film an limited cinematic, Digital release in the U.S and Canada.
