The London Critics’ Circle Film Awards Nominations Led By Anora & The Brutalist

Conclave, The Substance, Emilia Pérez, Hard Truths and Kneecap were also healthily represented in the nominations, which represent a brilliant year in cinema both at home and abroad.

The London Critics Circle Film Awards with The Brutalist plus Anora

The Awards season is slowly kicking off and today the London Critics’ Circle announced The Brutalist along with Anora lead the nominations for the 45th London Critics’ Circle Film Awards.

The UK’s leading film critics chose their nominations for the 45th London Critics’ Circle Film Awards, with Sean Baker and Brady Corbet’s films are  leading the nominations with seven apiece.

They aren’t alone at the top of the list with Edward Berger’s Conclave and Coralie Fargeat’s The Substance followed with six nominations each. Jacques Audiard’s Emilia Pérez gained five nominations, with  Mike Leigh’s Hard Truths and Rich Peppiatt’s Kneecap both earning four nominations.

All of these films are in the running for Film of the Year alongside Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine as Light, Alice Rohrwacher’s La Chimera, RaMell RossMikey Madison (Anora), Demi Moore (The Substance) and Saoirse Ronan (The Outrun), while Actor of the Year with  Adrien Brody (The Brutalist), Timothée Chalamet (A Complete Unknown), Daniel Craig (Queer), Colman Domingo (Sing Sing) and Ralph Fiennes (Conclave).

Last year’s ceremony saw Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest and Andrew Haigh’s All of Us Strangers lead the 44th annual London Critics’ Circle Awards with three wins apiece.
