The Secret Garden Gets A New Distributor, New Trailer!

A lot has happened in 2020, the Covid-19 turning everyone’s life upside down. Everything came to a halt including the film industry, 6 months on we’re slowly going back to some sort of normality. New films found themselves with revolving release dates, others got released in new formats as for The Secret Garden it’s now got an new home.
Right up to last month Marc Munden‘s adaptation of the classic s Hodgson Burnett novel Studiocanal was the film’s home. When schedules get full, distributors may have to give up films to give it a release and now Sky Cinema is the film’s new home.
The Secret Garden tells the story of Mary Lennox (Dixie Egerickx), born to wealthy parents in India 1940’s. Returning to the UK when her parents suddenly die. She’s sent to live with her Uncle Archibald (Colin Firth), where she begins to uncover family secrets and wonderful secret garden.

The Secret Garden, a Sky original tells the story of Mary Lennox (Dixie Egerickx), a 10-year-old girl sent to live with her uncle Archibald Craven (Colin Firth), under the watchful eye of Mrs. Medlock (Julie Walters) with only the household maid, Martha (Isis Davis) for company. The film is set in 1940s England at Misselthwaite Manor, a remote country estate deep in the Yorkshire moors.
Mary begins to uncover many family secrets, particularly after chancing upon her cousin Colin (Edan Hayhurst – There She Goes, Genius), who has been shut away unwell in a wing of the house. Whist exploring the grounds of the Misselthwaite Manor, Mary discovers a wondrous garden and meets a local boy Dickon (Amir Wilson – His Dark Materials, The Letter for the King) who helps her fix stray dog Hector’s injured leg using the garden’s restorative powers. The three children adventure deep into the mysteries of the garden – a magical place that will change their lives forever.
The film also stars Julie Walters, Amir Wilson, alongside Isis Davis. Maeve Dermody, Jemma Powell,Sonia Goswami, and Edan Hayhurst
The Secret Garden, a Sky original will be released in cinemas and on Sky Cinema from 23 October. The film will also be available on streaming service NOW TV via the Sky Cinema .
