The Simpsons, Family Guy and more to receive season renewals

Fox has announced a four-season renewal for beloved shows like The Simpsons, American Dad!, and more. Per Deadline, Fox’s announcement means these shows will continue through the 2028-2029 broadcast season.
Other hit series, like Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers, have received the same good news. Each show is planned to have 15 episodes per season. Although this is less than a typical 22-episode order, Fox “have been increasingly favoring shorter runs for scheduling and financial reasons.” It may also not surprise fans, as these shows have aired as such for some time.
The news may relieve fans of American Dad! in particular. After TBS announced they wouldn’t air new seasons of the show after March 2025, its future became jeopardised. But Fox acted quickly, picking the show back up after being its original host.
In a statement, Fox’s Michael Thorn commented: “This new deal celebrates the eternal popularity of these iconic comedies, as well as the enduring, prolific relationship we continue to enjoy with our friends at 20th Television Animation and the brilliant creators – that goes double for Seth [MacFarlane] this time around – and incredible voices behind these contemporary classics.”
