Tom Holland Set To Star In The Partner For Universal Pictures

Tom Holland is set to star and produce The Partner based on John Grisham‘s book. Deadline exclusively broke the news yesterday with The Imitation Game writer Graham Moore set to write the script.

Like Stephen King, John Grisham has seen many of his books adapted for the screen. A Time To Kill found Matthew McConaughey, Sandra Bullock and Sam Jackson on the fast track. Matt Damon and Claire Danes starred in The Rainmaker and The Firm starred Tom Cruise. John Cusack, Gene Hackman and Rachel Weisz in The Runaway Jury. Denzel Washington and Julia Roberts (The Pelican Brief), Tommy Lee Jones and Susan Sarandon (The Client).

When The Partner was written, Grisham was in line to get as much as $8 million for the movie rights. All thanks to the readability of his books and his power to see justice in the world. Of course John Grisham was a not just a lawyer in his day, he was a former member of the Mississippi House of Representatives.

Originally John Lee Hancock was in line to direct The Partner at Regency Pictures. Hancock directed A Time To Kill, The Client and The Runaway Jury, however the rights came free which see the film now at Universal Pictures. There has been not dates set for production to start filming. Tom Holland‘s own Billy17 will produce the movie with his brother Harry and Will South with Rideback.
