MORBIUS - 2020

Jared Leto‘s time in comic book related films hasn’t been the best of times. This Summer he’ll be hoping he won’t ‘suck’ when Morbius arrives in cinemas. Tonight we get the first opportunity to watch the film’s First Trailer as he gets blood thirsty as Marvel’s Pseudo Vampire.

After failing as the Joker, the Oscar winning actor exchanges his gold teeth, green hair to become a living vampire. This is not another MCU film but Sony Pictures expanding Spider-Man universe. Leto plays Dr.Michael Morbius an Nobel Peace Prize winning doctor. He has a rare blood disease that leaves him with blood thirst, with bat like qualities. A living vampire.

Fans of Spider-Man comic books will know this character is anti-hero. Created by Gil Kane and Roy Thomas in Issue 101 of The Amazing Spider-Man in 1971, introduced as an villain. Morbius is no stranger to the big screen, appearing in the alternate ending of Blade (1988) played by Stephen Norrington.

The films details have been kept under wraps from day one. We had no clue how it would fit into comic book universe. As you’ll see from this teaser, it’s Spider-Man: Homecoming with Michael Keaton making a cameo as Adrian Toomes. Could we be watching the start of us pushing toward the Sinister Six?

One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success soon reveals itself to be a remedy potentially worse than the disease.
