As Cannes Film Festival plays out we have some exciting films coming our way this year. One of those film’s on show will be Park Chan-wook, Decision to Leave will receive its World Premiere in Official Selection at Cannes Film Festival where it will screen in Competition. Boutique distributor/Streaming service MUBI will be releasing the film in cinemas in the UK, Ireland and USA before heading to their streaming service later this year.

Among the most influential directors of the last twenty years, Park Chan-wook returns to Cannes for the fourth time with Decision to Leave, widely regarded as one of the most anticipated premieres of the festival. Park was previously at Cannes with Grand Prix winner Oldboy (2003), Thirst (2009), andStoker (2013, starring Nicole Kidman and Mia Wasikowska), and his acclaimed BBC TV series The Little Drummer Girl (2018).

The film follows a police detective investigating the mysterious death of a man who fell from a mountain side. During that investigation he starts to develop an interest in the man’s wife who just happens to be one of the main suspects.

A man falls from a mountain peak to his death. The detective in charge of the investigation, Hae-joon (Park Hae-il), comes to meet the dead man’s wife Seo-rae (Tang Wei). When she becomes a suspect, Hae-joon finds himself slowly developing an interest in her.

The film stars Tang Wei, Park Hae-il, Go Kyung-Pyo, and Lee Jung-Hyun.

Decision To Leave will be released theatrically in the US and the UK with Autumn 2022 release dates planned, followed by an exclusive MUBI streaming release.
