When it comes to oddities, you can do no wrong by looking at Quentin Dupieux‘s filmography. If you haven’t got over his killer jacket in Deerskin, things are about to slide into surreal absurdity with Mandibles. Altitude Films are bringing this feast of craziness and now we can check out the film’s UK Trailer that teases a wild and surreal road movie.

Is it a horror? fantasy? or simply a WTF bonkers comedy? Answers on a postcard , if anything probably a mix of all and much more. this is coming from the director who made a film about a killer car tyre aka Rubber!

In this one, Jean-Gab and Manu find a giant fly trapped in the boot of a car, the pair decide to train it in the hope of making a ton of cash.

That short film description says it all, seeing is believing. The critics love it will we?

When simple-minded friends Jean-Gab (David Marsais) and Manu (Gregoire Ludig) find a giant fly trapped in the boot of a car they decide to train it in the hope of making some serious money. A heart-warming, sincere buddy movie with friendship at its core, Dupieux’s follow up feature to the likes of Rubber and Deerskin was one of the most talked-about titles at the 2020 Venice International Film Festival where it premiered to rave reviews. Featuring a soundtrack by acclaimed British band Metronomy, MANDIBLES is set to both excite and enchant UK audiences this Autumn with its maverick humour and unexpected humanity.

The film stars Grégoire Ludig, David Marsais, Adèle Exarchopoulos, Coralie Russier and India Hair. Mandibles will first make its UK premiere at the Edinburgh International Film Festival on 21st August [book tickets]. The film will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 17th September, then on 20th September on Digital Platforms.
