Watch the final trailer for Divergent sequel, Insurgent

Insurgent, the follow-up film to the popular Divergent, is released in UK cinemas in less than a month. To make the time  a bit quicker, a new, action-packed trailer has been released for the film, which is the second in The Divergent series.

The film, based on the book of the same name by Veronica Roth, s Tris (Shailene Woodley) after the events of the first film,  where she is on the run with Four (Theo James) after they have become Jeanine’s (Kate Winslet) number one targets. Racing against time the pair must find out exactly why Tris’s family gave up their lives up to protect her, but the power-hungry Erudite leader will do everything in her power to try to stop Tris from unlocking the truth.

Drawing more than a few parallels to fellow young adults novels/films, The Hunger Games, The Divergent Series, although undoubtedly popular, hasn’t yet taken off in quite the same way. With the trailer showing Tris fighting to survive amidst a post-apocalyptic backdrop, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, looks like it could be even more action-packed than the original.

The Divergent Series: Insurgent also stars Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Jai Courtney and Naomi Watts. The film will be released in UK cinemas on the 19th March.
