R.M.N coming to UK September and watch UK Trailer

Picturehouse Entertainment have sent us the UK Trailer for R.M.N the latest film for award winning Romanian filmmaker Cristian Mungiu.

After touring the film festival circuit the past 12 months including 2022 Cannes Film Festival, now the film comes to the UK and Ireland. A film that reflects on the history of Romania through the meeting of its Romanian, Hungarian, Moldavian communities.

In this one we follow a recently made unemployed man returning home to his Transylvanian village. He tries to reconnect with his life again, including a job at the local factory. Who hire several other workers instead, smashing the fragile peace within the village.

It’s a bleak, harrowing drama and though it’s set in Romania similar problems are happening worldwide. There is a scene that lasts 17 minutes, you could easily cut through the tension with scissors. Not an easy, comfortable watch, we expect nothing less from a Mungiu film.

From acclaimed auteur Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days), comes a stunning new piece of cinema. Set in a remote Transylvanian town where customs and tradition bind the community together, historic resentments start to bubble to the surface with the arrival of some new immigrant workers who have been hired by the local factory. Underlying frustrations and fears soon grip the populace, erupting through the veneer of understanding and calm. With divisions forming and tensions running high, it falls to a few residents to try and prevent the community from breaking apart completely. Featuring an outstanding cast, R.M.N. is a gripping, breathtaking and powerful new work from one of the masters of European cinema.

The film stars Marin Grigore, Judith State, Orsolya Moldován and Macrina Bârlădeanu. R.M.N will be released in UK and Irish cinemas from 22nd September.
