Watch The Touching UK Trailer For Paz Vega’s Rita

Signature Entertainment have revealed the official UK Trailer for Paz Vega‘s touch drama Rita.

The film marks the Spanish actor’s directorial feature debut. Vega also stars in her debut, people may know her from the likes of Sex And Lucia, Talk To Her to name a few. The film also Roberto Álamo, and child actors Sofia Allepuz, Alejandro Escamilla and Daniel Navarro.

Rita is set in Spain and during the 1984 European Football Championship (which Spain lost to in the final). The nation is living in a fever dream, we follow seven year old Rita and her 5 year old brother. She protects her little brother from the bullying from her father whilst dreaming of living by the sea with her mother.

Renowned Spanish actress Paz Vega makes her directorial debut in this touching family drama. Amidst the chaos of the European football championships, seven-year-old Rita and her little brother struggle through a sweltering Spanish summer in their working-class neighbourhood. Protecting themselves from their father’s bullying, Rita clings on to a dream of building a house by the sea for their mother. Starring Paz Vega (Spanglish), Sofía Allepuz and Alejandro Escamilla, Rita is written and directed by Vega.

Rita will have its UK Premiere at Glasgow Film Festival on Friday 7th March and is available on Digital Platforms 24th March. You can buy your festival tickets here.
