If you are enjoying a family holiday, would you know the world is ending? It seems the case in the apocalyptic thriller Leave The World Behind starring Ethan Hawke and Julia Roberts.
Netflix have just released the unnerving full Trailer for the film that it’s time to open up your eyes before it’s too late.
This film comes from the Mr Robot creator Sam Esmail which mixes a family drama, psychological thriller with the apocalypse. Amanda and Clay (Roberts & Hawke) head to a luxury villa for a well earned holiday. That vacation is interrupted by a man (Mahershala Ali) and his daughter (Myha’la) seeking refuge in the home they say is actually there’s.
This one seems to have a big Knock At The Cabin vibe to it. This promo gives us a glimpse of the apocalyptic horrors that await everyone outside and inside the home. What will explode first? Them or whatever is causing our world to fall apart?
In this apocalyptic thriller from award-winning writer and director Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot), Amanda (Academy Award winner Julia Roberts) and her husband Clay (Academy Award nominee Ethan Hawke), rent a luxurious home for the weekend with their kids, Archie (Charlie Evans) and Rose (Farrah Mackenzie). Their vacation is soon upended when two strangers — G.H. (Academy Award winner Mahershala Ali) and his daughter Ruth (Myha’la) — arrive in the night, bearing news of a mysterious cyberattack and seeking refuge in the house they claim is theirs. The two families reckon with a looming disaster that grows more terrifying by the minute, forcing everyone to come to with their places in a collapsing world. Based on the National Book Award-nominated novel by Rumaan Alam, LEAVE THE WORLD BEHIND is produced by Esmail Corp, Red Om Films, and executive produced by Higher Ground Productions.
The film also stars Farrah Mackenzie, Charlie Evans and Kevin Bacon .Leave The World Behind will make it’s world premiere at AFI Fest tomorrow 25th October. It will also have a limited UK and Irish cinema release 24th November before heading to Netflix on 8th December.
