Watch UK Trailer For Catherine Hardwicke’s Prisoner’s Daughter

out in the UK on Digital format from 4th July, Prisoner's Daughter

Vertigo Releasing have released the official UK Trailer for indie drama Prisoner’s Daughter. The film is directed by Catherine Hardwicke who directed the Twilight Saga and Mamma Mafia (starring Toni Collette) still to be released in the UK.

The film stars Brian Cox and ex-prisoner Max who is granted comion to leave prison. All because he has been diagnosed with terminal cancer and moves in with his estranged daughter Maxine (Kate Beckinsale) who is desperate for income. Maxine isn’t interested in reconciliation with her dad or let him near his grand son whilst contending with her son’s abusive junkie father.

This any good? The film premiered at last year’s Toronto Film Festival leaving with some strong reviews. With Succession just ended, what better time to push this one.

Prisoner’s Daughter is a gritty, turbulent thriller that follows Max ( Cox) , an ex-con who has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. Granted comionate leave, he moves in with his estranged daughter, Maxine (Beckinsale). As a single mom desperate for income to raise her only son, Ezra (Convery), she reluctantly agrees but has no interest in reconciliation or allowing Max to have a relationship with her son. To make matters worse, Maxine also has to contend with Ezra’s father, Tyler (Ritter), an abusive addict who wants more control over his son’s life. As Max seeks one last chance to redeem himself in her eyes, they must contend with his dark, violent past as it comes back to haunt them all.

The film also stars Christopher Convery, Ernie Hudson, Jon Huertas, and Tyson Ritter. Prisoner’s Daughter will be released in the UK and Ireland on Digital Format from 4th July.
