In Wilson UK Trailer Woody Harrelson’s Life Is Lonely, Miserable, Honest

Wilson

We all love movies but our world has been dominated by comic book movies for many years, we do love those movies but not all movies are about Spandex superheroes. The graphic Novel world has been a great source for the alternative ‘comic book’ movie and Daniel Clowes especially with Ghost World (one of Scarlett Johansson‘s early releases).

This June Fox Searchlight will be bringing another Clowes novel to the big screen, Wilson starring Woody Harrelson as a lonely, miserable but honest man trying to reconnect with his old life. Check out the new UK (Red Band) Trailer …

Today Sundance announced the 2017 lineup for Sundance London Film Festival and Wilson will be part of. The movie looks to continue the darkly comedic tone seen in the much loved Ghost World. A tale of loneliness and depression in adults rather adolescence, a role set up perfectly for Harrelson to play. But will this be one misanthropic loner we’ll want to see in our cinemas?

Woody Harrelson stars as Wilson, a lonely, neurotic and hilariously honest middle-aged misanthrope who reunites with his estranged wife (Laura Dern) and gets a shot at happiness when he learns he has a teenage daughter (Isabella Amara) he has never met. In his uniquely outrageous and slightly twisted way, he sets out to connect with her.

Humanity is never straightforward as many want us to believe, Clowes is great at delivering that more real human character study. Let’s hope those nice folks who have the power to bring movies to life look at bringing more of Clowes work to the big screen.

Wilson is set for a limited UK& Irish cinema release from 9th June, with the UK premiere at Sundance London Film Festival the week before (1st-4th June). The movie also stars Judy Greer, Cheryl Hines, Mary Lynn Rajskub.
